The harvest of the top-quality kiwi for the Sweeki brand has started in Chile. Origine Group plan to sell 2,000 tons of Italian kiwis and the same from Chile

In Chile the harvest of the green kiwis for the brand “Sweeki” of Origine Group has begun. This season the two Chilean members of the Group,David del Curto and Copefrut, will increase the quantity of Hayward bound to the brand “Sweeki Green”, used to market the top-quality kiwis of the Group. Only kiwifruits of superior quality, with great appearance, high sugar content and high dry matter can become Sweeki.

In the orchards of the two Chilean companies the picking started on high hopes, both for quantity and quality. Chilean Sweeki will be mostly directed to the Asian market, where will join the late Italian product, whose shipments are drawing to a close.

We are going to sell nearly 2,000 tons of Italian kiwis on foreign markets, and we hope to reach the same result with the Chilean Sweeki states Alessandro Zampagna, Managing Director of Origine Group. “In spite of another difficult year for the Italian kiwi production, Sweeki is meeting a growing interest in the international markets, thanks to the high quality, the all-year-round presence, the service to the client and the promotion of the brand. The production of our Chilean members, David Del Curto and Copefrut, looks promising and will allow us to serve our clients as best as we can.”

The very first shipments of Sweeki from Chile will be in the next fortnight.
